c10t is a mapping program for Minecraft.
It takes a Minecraft world and generates an image representing this world.
It's a simple to use command line tool that renders many different types of information of the minecraft world in the thrilling form of maps. There are stable(ish) binary releases on a regular(ish) basis for GNU/Linux, OS X and Windows. For Minecraft features change in time, one may want to cook the latest mapping tool for it rather than waiting.
I found expert(ish), brief instructions for building c10t on github. I used 64 bit openSuSE 11.4 and needed to merge cmake, gcc, gcc-c++, libpng, zlib, freetype2 and many boost related library into the system. And of course git.
Example rendering with manually gimped information layer.
